“Have you have you have you faced your shadows?
The real shadows that lurk within your soul.
That are deeply hidden from your line of sight, not seen to the naked eye?
I thought I had.
I thought I had made sense of my childhood traumas on a rational level – but little did I know, I was still reeling from the spiritual pain that had yet to be surfaced, honed in on, healed, and cleansed from the crevices of my body.
That was my experience working with the Shipibo-Konibo Shamans during my intimate ayahuasca retreat. In one session, my connection with the plant was so deeply impactful, that I was able to cure my intense hay fever, my past resentment towards my family, relinquish my low grade anxiety and depression, understand and heal my sex and masturbation addiction, and also fully integrate into my life purpose and mission.
If this sounds crazy to you, believe me when I tell you that never in a million years would I walk into this experience believing that these would be the outcomes.
Ayahuasca is a medicinal vine that grows in the jungle. Her strong spirit calls people to embark on a journey of self healing and massive transformation. The Shipibo Shamans that I worked with carried forward immense wisdom and strength in their ceremonies and sang beautifully to my soul. They provided energy work that helped me align my repressed subconscious desires and showed me a path to integrate my life experiences into my true purpose.
Eugene, the facilitator of the retreat, was very hospitable. His knowledge of this ancient practice, his briefings before and after the ceremonies, and his overall care and concern for disciples that he takes under his wing speaks for itself. Eugene to his core understands where, when, and how ayahuasca should be consumed. He respects the life changing and spiritual aspects of undergoing an Ayahuasca ceremony, and it reverberates throughout his approach, thoughtful planning, and execution of these retreats. Instead of embarking on overpriced Ayahuasca retreats that are hosted in massive facilities, with 30-100 strangers in a room together, and intermixing lineage practices, Eugene and his deep personal relationship with the Shipibo Shamans (those whom practice the cleanest version of ayahuasca brewing) provides a truly authentic and intimate experience for those who are willing to brave their fears and face their shadows.
We had our retreat at X during the summer solstice. It was a beautiful and serene home that was embedded in the middle of nature. We were able to feel the energy of the valley bleeding into the ceremony, and intermixing into the life force.
I can’t wait to come back again in a few months to do an extended journey in the jungle with Eugene, Fernando, and Delsy.
